PredictionNET

Tech, Education, AppTom WalmaComment

A web site to allow professionals (scientists, engineers, business leaders) or groups of professionals to make and share predictions about the future, including prediction algorithms (which are based on other predictions and where the predicted outcome changes week to week as new information is received). There would be snapshots of the prediction algorithms, so you can see how the prediction has evolved over time. You'd be able to see the past performance of somebody's predictions. Regular "unverified" people would be able to make predictions as well. And psychic abilities would be disproven (or proven)

Mobile Farms

Environmentalism, Futuristic, Tech, Business Idea, RobotsTom WalmaComment

Urban farms in shipping-container sized flower pots which fit in semi-trucks/trains/etc. That way, you can transport them to "farming factories" in both the spring to plant the crops and the fall to harvest them, so you don't have to farm inefficiently with human hands. You could also transport them into buildings to protect them from crop-destroying weather, and put them in suburban yards instead of lawns

Household Item Matching and 3D-Printing Service

Tech, Robots, Futuristic, 3D PrintingChris YoungComment

A service for homeowners to rent a device which helps match small household items like Tupperware containers and pairs of socks, and also contains a 3-D printer to print or repair missing or broken items. It also can shame you for wanting to create matching items for gross old stuff

Bulls###bot

Robots, NSFW, Tech, FuturisticRyan AllenComment

A little Jetsons-style robot which follows you around and loudly reports lies which it detects based on facial expressions, tone of voice, and also Internet data. However, you can't configure it to ignore your lies, and people could hack it to falsely report lies and destroy people's relationships. And psychopaths can use it to improve their lying skills

Smell-O-Vision

Futuristic, Invention, Tech, Tiny Houses, RobotsTom WalmaComment

The futuristic tiny house idea from previous podcast episodes which uses robots to wheel in and out all of your stuff on demand could also wheel in Glade Plug-in-style scents and release them into the air in sync with your television. That way you could have "Smell-O-Vision" without the nuisance of having to constantly buy and replace dozens of scent plugins/cartridges

Where You From? App

App, Social Media, TechSai-DComment

An app for strangers standing near each other to announce to each other where they consider themselves as "being from", to avoid awkward situations, such as accidentally speaking Japanese to a Korean person, or to help spark a conversation with a stranger, who might be from the same US state, for example. Although there's a risk it could get corrupted by seethingly racist trolls

Revolving Door Electricity Generator

Tech, Invention, EnvironmentalismBrendan GayComment

A device to generate electricity from pushing a revolving door when entering or exiting a building. Although this might cause companies to encourage their employees to smoke so that they generate electricity walking outside for their cigarette break. And "big oil" might murder people in the revolving door Godfather-style to discourage people from generating clean energy

Bored App

NSFW, Tech, Business Idea, App, Event or ActivityAaron WhiteComment

When you're bored, get on board the "bored app", and it’ll give you a list of stuff to do (outside of your house) near your current location at the current time, which is tailored to your interests. Also: "baby on bored" for stuff you can do with your kids, "over bored", opening businesses off-hours on-demand through the app, and creepy work bathroom stories

Hanging Human Beehive Skyscraper

Invention, Tech, Futuristic, Tiny HousesTom Walma2 Comments

An extremely lightweight skyscraper shaped like a giant beehive that hangs down from giant "St. Louis Arch"-sized arch(es), above existing skyscrapers, where the people and all of their stuff are flown in and out on drones which look like giant bees.

Also: rotating them around a city through a series of arches on a suspended cable, tea-bagging the Trump tower, beehive-dweller bullying, an idea for the biggest business of all time

Deplatform Shoes

Tech, Body AugmentationAbbie LemkeComment

A sci-fi shoe or a plastic surgery to make a tall person shorter (because it's not fair that short people can wear shoes to make them look taller, but not vice-versa). Also: tall people who aren't good at sports, giant guitar players, silly things we'd do if we were tall
