Idea: The time spent doing repetitive tasks to gather health or money inside a videogame could instead control a real-life robot doing a real job in real life, such as stacking grocery store shelves. Also: If a real-life grocery-stacking robot scared a mother and caused her to drop her baby, you'd lose points in the game; a game like "Rollercoaster Tycoon" where you're controlling a real company but you don't know it; training people to overcome agoraphobia

24-Hour Service Shops with Scheduling App in Grocery Stores

Idea: To put 24-hour service shops (haircuts, banks, cafes, pharmacies, primary care doctors, Japanese vending machines, etc.) in grocery stores and have an app for customers to schedule these services before they come in. Customers will come to the store for the service and buy groceries while they're there. Also: grocery delivery will kill grocery stores unless they transition to being a destination for services; workers could be trained to do multiple services (i.e. be both a hairstylist and a bank teller)

Haircut Scheduling App

Idea: An app to arrange off-hours haircuts at barbershops/salons so you don't have to take time off work to get a haircut. Also: businesses that make people stand in line or wait should be destroyed (they should hire extra workers and make them wait for customers); the only thing worse than waiting around while getting paid is waiting around while not getting paid; Tom thinks he bombed doing standup comedy because he was too lazy to get his hair cut and he started to grow bangs that look like a bowl cut

Covid Buffet Food Grabber

Idea: A gadget or utensil for one person to grab all of their own food at a buffet, because the current Covid workaround of having an employee serve the buffet food to you (and possibly judge you) is embarrassing. Especially if you eat like a pig, which is the whole point of going to a buffet. Also: Covid masks making kids quieter and less annoying at Disney World, using the "food grabber" as a socially-distanced “stripper tipper”

Standardized Smart Device Recharge Plug and App

Idea: To have a standardized plug to allow you to recharge smart devices without taking them down from your wall or ceiling. These devices include touch lights, doorbells, security cameras, clocks, smoke detectors, smart heat vents, digital picture frames, etc. Also: to have a single app which shows you the battery charge state of all of your smart devices all at once, so you don't have the hassle of periodically walking around your house physically checking them all or running half a dozen different apps. Also: A futuristic house which isn't hooked up to electricity and all of the electronics in the house use rechargeable batteries which are periodically recharged by robots

Ideas for special considerations for the upcoming US Presidential debates between the very-old Trump and the very-old Biden, including giving them bathroom breaks and not using bells if they go over time (so you don't startle them and give them a heart attack). Also: dementia-based gaffes are the NASCAR car crashes which keep the debates interesting; gambling and drinking games for the debates; questioning whether you prefer a president who's older than you; Michigan cities have more memorable identities than Ohio cities

Brain Smuggler Movie

Idea: A comedic sci-fi movie where a gross, rude, morbidly obese man saves people from a genocide by temporarily implanting their brains inside his body in order to smuggle them out of the country. Also: the implanted brains can communicate with him and so he's constantly arguing with them; brains consume a lot of calories, so the fat guy would be sweating profusely and eating nonstop on the airplane; in the future, we'll be able to put our brains in new bodies, and so, once people start to get fat, rather than trying to lose weight, they'll let themselves go until they can afford a new body. So there'll be a weird mix of fit, young people and shockingly fat people (like Florida)

Localized Movies

Idea: To create multiple versions of the same movie, each one for a different geographic region (using that region as a green screen backdrop and using supporting actors from that region). There would be many versions of the same movie in the US (like maybe in Seattle, New York, Chicago, Las Vegas, Nashville) and a large percentage of the scenes would look totally different. Also: selling half-completed movies (with celebrities scenes and big action scenes completed) to other movie studios in other countries to complete making that country's version of the movie using local actors; telling award-winning actors to "act worse" because if their acting is too good it might make the acting of the local supporting actors unwatchable

Garbage Tubes to Space

Idea: Tubes that shoot garbage into space. The Venturi principle and the surface tension of water would theoretically cause the liquefied garbage to climb up the tube (like water in a tree). Also: Earth would look like the villain Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies; maybe Jupiter and Saturn look brown because they're surrounded by trash that got sucked up into orbit by alien garbage tubes; bending the garbage tubes to launch the garbage into nearby cities with rival sports teams; accidentally sucking the Earth's atmosphere into space
