Food Circus

Idea: Traveling "food circuses"which are each based on a specific genre of food (Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Greek, etc.). Cooks and market vendors from that country would serve/sell food of every class of that food genre (markets, street food, normal everyday restaurants, fancy 4-star restaurants). The food circus would have scheduled activities, like speeches from famous chefs or cooking lessons. It would be designed to allow walking around, but also designed to enable quick entry and exit so people can go during their lunch hour at work

Drone Sightseeing Tours

Idea: An hourly drone rental service for sightseeing at the Grand Canyon (or some other vacation destination), where you'd control the drone remotely from your computer, tablet, or VR headset. Tailgate Grill

Idea: A grill built into the tailgate of a truck, for the purposes of tailgating (partying before a college sporting event). After leaving the game, if a driver is tailgating you (driving too close behind you), you could release the meat grease and ash onto the hood of their car. Also: Maybe the combination of rain and the wind from the moving truck could clean the grill

Racetrack Tow-Rope Snow Skiing

Idea: Snow skiing on an oval racetrack where a metal bar goes across the track about 8 feet above the ground, and several tow-ropes hang down from it and push skiers around the track. The track can contain little bouncy hills and ramps and such. This allows skiing to be done in small parks in cities

Trench Advice

High-Stakes "Rock, Paper, Scissors"

Idea: A variation of the game "rock, paper, scissors" which involves betting in a way similar to poker and playing in groups instead of 1-on-1, with the intent of being a game of skill like poker. Also: the essence of "rock, paper, scissors"; a game kit which includes 1) sensors to prevent cheaters from changing their choice a split second after the round ends, 2) computerized scorekeeping, and 3) an electronic display of the results of recent rounds of the game to help you formulate a strategy for future rounds; achieving success on Kickstarter by selling a product so stupid that it gains attention (for example, by selling a game that you can play for free)

Virtual-Only Experiences With Real Human Guides

A bunch of ideas for virtual (i.e. Zoom/Skype) entertainment experiences with real human guides, where the experiences would be impossible to do in-person in the real world (as opposed to "Amazon Explore", which is virtual versions of real-world experiences). Examples include virtual tours of historical places and historical disasters, virtual tours of real-world places with "inappropriate" tour guides (such as comedians), video-drone tours of real world places which are off-limits to tourists (the moon, parts of the Grand Canyon, etc.), and real world events/games where the person participating virtually plays a role of a team (for example, being a lookout in a heist)

Pleasure Chemical Vacation Planning

Idea: To plan vacations around the science of brain chemistry, such as the concept that it takes a few hours or days to fully replenish pleasure-inducing brain chemicals. For example, if it takes a few days to replenish a brain pleasure chemical like dopamine, in the meantime, you could schedule leisure activities which require different brain pleasure chemicals, such as a rollercoaster which requires lots of adrenaline but not much dopamine. Also: varying your schedule so your body can't predict its future state and level you out (i.e. make you bored)

Cam Dogs

Idea: A web site where you can interact with a real dog virtually via a webcam, and also control robotics to feed the dog, pet the dog, and play with the dog (such as by throwing a ball). Possible customers include lonely elderly people, people in hospitals, people who are allergic to dogs or live in places where dogs aren't allowed, people in public (traveling or at work or school) who need to relax, etc. Also: emotionally blackmailing customers with pictures of sad dogs if they stop using the service; using footage of the dog in a "Black Mirror"-like scenario to create a robot with the same personality as the dog; themes or scenarios, such as a Scooby Doo robotic ghost adventure

Everybody Must Run For President

Idea: A giant tournament bracket in which everybody in the US runs for president. Each contest in the bracket consists of 8 candidates, and the winner among the 8 candidates advances to the next round. Each voter only votes for one 8-person contest per round. There are 10 rounds in total, and in the final round, everyone votes to determine who of the 8 final candidates becomes president. Also: horrible candidates like Mike Bloomberg might spend a million dollars per voter and still lose in the first round; if more democracy is better democracy, this has to be the best approach

Plan A Party in Paradise

Vacations get boring after a while because they're purely a consumption of experiences. They lack the social satisfaction of helping people or giving joy to people. An idea to help vacationers give joy to other people (and therefore be less bored) is for resorts to organize an activity where vacationers help throw parties for other vacationers. Historical Concept Societies

Idea: To create societies of 100,000+ people who *loosely* live the lifestyle of a historical era (but with flushing toilets), including both the popular culture and the technology of the era. That way, they can make money on tourism, and if a huge global disaster occurs, and we lose all electricity or all computers or something, we have a large supply of people who know how to do stuff using older technology, who can instantly step in to help the rest of the world and prevent mass starvation. Also: the need for more physical leisure activities; as tech advances, there'll be a need for more and more societies based on different levels of technology, which will create more and more jobs

Twitter Theater

Idea: A performance venue where you vote on Twitter (or some other social media platform) for who will perform that night. It would encourage friendly competition between performers, and would encourage famous people who are in town for other reasons to "drop in" spontaneously Also: purchasing the ticket as part of the vote and getting refunded if the performer you voted for loses; checking the candidates every day at lunch would keep people interested in the venue; it would be a step towards freeing humanity from the prison of constant time commitments

Deadly Escape Room

Robot Fish for Scuba and Underwater Theme Parks
