Invention

Weed Passing Device

Invention, SillinessJon HouserComment

Idea: A device to pass weed across the room to your friends without getting up from the couch. Ideas include a ball with a bong inside which is gyroscopically kept upright ("Ballabong"), an "Inspector Gadget"-style extendable device ("Bong Tongs"), a joint with aerodynamic fins to allow you to throw it like a dart ("Jart") or shoot from a Nerf crossbow ("Crossjoint"), a weed catapult ("Cannapult"), and beach balls filled by a Volcano vaporizor ("99 Luftvapeballons"). Also: weed on Mars; dodgebong or "hot potato" where you smoke the potato; the best-case scenario for being hit in the face

Exercise Machine Videogame Controllers

Business Idea, Invention, Health, TechTom WalmaComment

Idea: Handles for an exercise machine (such as a treadmill, bicycle, rowing machine, or even free weights) which contain a game controller for XBox/Playstation/Steam to allow you to play A-list videogames while exercising. The handles could be swapped from exercise machine to exercise machine to allow you to perform a type of exercise which doesn't interfere with your gameplay at any given moment. The actual exercise (the pedaling of a bicycle, for example) wouldn't impact the gameplay, although maybe that feature could be added later as an enhancement. Also: gyms are like medieval torture; almost falling off the back of a treadmill when preparing to jump in a videogame; playing a videogame while exercising to improve your fitness training; nerdy details on Tom's prototype treadmill videogame controller and how exercise equipment manufacturers could incorporate videogames into their devices

Nicotine or Caffeine Infused Tooth Brushing Sticks

Health, InventionTom WalmaComment

Idea: To infuse a miswak stick (a tree stick traditionally used in the Middle East to brush your teeth without toothpaste) with nicotine or caffeine. Also: the miswak stick could replace the "cigarette break" and allow everybody (not just smokers) to stand outside and waste time at work; cleaning your teeth by eating a toothpaste sandwich; shampoo, chap stick, and toothpaste are all scams

Cigarette Storage Shiv

InventionJimmy SlimsComment

Idea: A small case for storing a cigarette which also functions as a shiv, because it can be dangerous to smoke outside in the dark. It would have a tight seal so you could stab somebody without getting their blood on the cigarette inside. It might also contain a cigarette holder/clasp which holds onto the cigarette when you open the case so you can smoke the cigarette without touching it with your blood-covered hands. Also: other ideas for drug-related items that could double as self-defense weapons, such as a bong dart gun; not getting high from smoking but getting floored by edibles

GoZebos and Snap-In Windows

Futuristic, Invention, Tech, Tiny HousesTom WalmaComment

Idea: Gazebos and other structures (yurts, sunbathing pods, dune buggies, pontoon boats) which can be converted between "open-air structures" and "enclosed shelter-providing structures" by snapping in/out modular clear plastic windows. The idea is, instead of living in a "house", to instead live most of your life in the open air, and only enclose yourself "indoors" (i.e. within walls and windows) for brief moments of shelter, such as sleeping, avoiding cold or rainy weather, using the bathroom, etc. Also: robots transporting most of your stuff between the structures and a neighborhood warehouse on-demand; the increased danger of bear attacks; a music festival where people construct small temporary shelters around the stage and live there for days or weeks

Table Pet Barrier

Invention, PetsTom WalmaComment

Idea: A barrier that surrounds a table or desk to block pets from jumping onto the table and eating your food. It would have sliding doors on your side of the table to either allow you to access the table, or block the table when you need to leave the table to go get ketchup. It would have a hand crank to allow you to lower it below the surface of the table when its not being used, so you don't have to store it somewhere. Also: Taking the Mark Rober creative engineering online course and trying to convince teenagers not to do dangerous things with motors and knives which might cause them to lose fingers; dogs eating poop and then breathing their stink breath onto you with the intention of making you lose your appetite so you'll give them your food

Tailgate Grill

Cars, Invention, Event or ActivityJustin McLeodComment

Idea: A grill built into the tailgate of a truck, for the purposes of tailgating (partying before a college sporting event). After leaving the game, if a driver is tailgating you (driving too close behind you), you could release the meat grease and ash onto the hood of their car. Also: Maybe the combination of rain and the wind from the moving truck could clean the grill

Temporarily Waterproof Toilet Paper

Invention, NSFWJustin McLeodComment

Idea: Toilet paper which is temporarily waterproof on one side, so you don't have to wad up or fold the toilet paper to keep from getting gross butt water on your hands while wiping, and it eventually dissolves after you flush it down the toilet

Radiator Furniture

InventionGwen HopeComment

Idea: Furniture designed to be placed in front of a radiator so you can feel the warmth from the radiator. Also: the risk of steampunk dominating the radiator furniture movement; the danger of burning yourself when sitting in front of a radiator makes it sexy, and if you're using hairspray, the danger of your hair erupting into flames makes it even sexier; a furry cat who sells rats

"Ice Baby" Winter Car Cover

Cars, InventionTom WalmaComment

Idea: A heated car cover for winter so you don't have to scrape snow and ice off your car. When not in use, it would be kept inside a box in one of the car seats. The box would look like a baby, and would be hollow like a Russian nesting doll. The car cover would be permanently attached to the box, and would have a hole for your car door latch, so you could close your car door with part of the car cover still inside the car (and also connected to the cigarette lighter for electricity to heat the car cover in the rare case that ice freezes it to the outside of the car). Also, keeping part of the car cover attached to the box in the car seat ensures that the car cover is always aligned correctly for quickly and easily wrapping it around the car (i.e. you don't have to fumble with finding the front of the car cover, the car cover blowing away, etc). Also: a parking spot which has an electric car charger could also have some sort of electronic device to keep snow and ice off the car which is parked there; using fire to remove a frozen-on car cover

Shake and Shock Alarm Clock

Invention, NSFW, HealthSpruce RiceComment

Idea (NSFW): An alarm to shake your bed or shock you to wake you up. It could also defibrillate you, scare you during horror movies, and pleasure you. But don't use it if you're pregnant (wink wink). Also: it would hurt coffee sales; gradually shaking you more intensely until you wake up; hacking it to strengthen the shock

Office Privacy Chair

Silliness, InventionTom WalmaComment

Idea: An office chair with privacy attachments, such as an umbrella above your head and curtains that loop around the umbrella and possibly also loop around your monitor. Also: low walls in cubicles are torture because tall people lack privacy and can be constantly distracted by movement in the corner of their eyes

From Ho To Housewife and Double-Sided Razor

Invention, ClothingKara CoraciComment

Ideas: A makeup brand named "From Ho To Housewife" which is specialized for bachelorette parties, a double-sided razor with a blue side for men and a pink side for women. Also: Using the double-sided razor, he can stick his head next to her legs and they can shave together in one stroke to save time. And the double-sided razor provides plausible deniability for a man to use the women's razor because women's razors are smoother and more comfortable than men's razors.

FartLogger

Tech, Health, Invention, App, SillinessTony VasekComment

Idea: A bed that counts and analyzes your farts for health purposes. Also: comparing your fart count to the foods you ate to figure out which foods cause you to fart; taffy-induced stomach gurgling masking the sounds of a potential burglary; keeping drugs on hand so if you accidentally shart in your girlfriend's bed you can lie and say that you muled the drugs so you can party

Line Up Hair Stencil Helmets

Invention, Business Idea, 3D PrintingTravis TehlirianComment

Idea: Stencils to help people "line up" or "shape up" their own hair using hair clippers. The hair stencils would wrap around/over your head so you can't misposition them. They'd be designed to precisely fit your specific head by using a scanned 3D image of your head. Also: misunderstanding the word "hairline", the social consequences of messing up your line up, stencils for shaping your beard

Doorless Fridge with Tech Gadgets

Environmentalism, Food, Futuristic, Invention, TechTom WalmaComment

Idea: A doorless refrigerator which consists of several standard-sized drawers which can each be plug-and-play gadgets, such as a drone-compatible can dispenser, an eco-friendly super-insulated drawer, a refrigerator-cooled high-speed computer, a body cooling rubber snuggie inflator, etc. Also: the refrigerator door is an enemy of technological progress, you'd only need to pay for the electricity to cool the subset of refrigerator drawers that you're actually using, mini-fridges with fewer drawers for tiny houses and dorms

Assfa

NSFW, Silliness, InventionDavid WellfareComment

Idea: A rigid banana-shaped luffa holder which obese people can stick to the bathroom wall to use to wash their back, so they don't have to reach around their body and risk getting muscle cramps. Also: other possible uses for such a device, the least American thing ever
