Invention

Futuristic Tiny Houses

Business Idea, Environmentalism, Futuristic, Invention, Tech, Tiny HousesTom WalmaComment

Tom's idea for a futuristic tiny house where most (or all) of your stuff is wheeled in and out by robots. The idea also solves gerrymandering, makes "universal basic income" feasible, solves the Flint Water Crisis, and gives people the freedom to escape their miserable 9-to-5 office jobs and live nomadic lives of leisure. But everyone opposes it because it involves sharing toilets

Individually Adjustable Window Blinds

App, Invention, TechTom WalmaComment

Tom thinks that window blinds are designed wrong, because when they are half open, they expose your groin to your neighbors and block your eyes from seeing out the window. He'd like individually-adjustable window blinds controlled by an app, that way you can choose what you can see (and which body parts to expose)

Just-In-Case Pillowcase

Invention, Parenting, NSFWJason PattersonComment

Idea: A special pillowcase which contains a pouch to hold a condom, to use as a backup if you forgot to carry one in your wallet or keep one elsewhere in your house. Also, a great gift to awkwardly give your child on the day they move out of the house when starting college

Cars Without Batteries

Invention, Doomsday Prepping, CarsTom WalmaComment

Idea: Cars don't need batteries. Brakelights can be LED lights with batteries built into the bulb. The speedometer and console (except the fuel gauge) can be a phone app. The electricity needed to start the car (i.e. ignition) can be obtained by electric car charging stations which are being added to parking spots.

No Hot Shower Water Until You Floss

Health, Invention, TechTom WalmaComment

Tom didn't floss. He bought a water pik, and he still didn't floss. He bought a water pik to go into his shower, and he still doesn't floss. So he thinks there should be an app to detect that you use the shower water pik, and if you don't use it, it blocks you from having hot water in the shower. That way, maybe he'll finally floss

Air Hoses For Oscillating Fans

InventionTom WalmaComment

Idea: A baseball-width air hose to attach to the back of an oscillating fan, where the air hose leads to a cool basement or to cool night-time outdoor air (possibly using the same hole on the side of your house as the "bug disposal hole" from the previous idea)

House Bug Disposal Hole

Animal Rights / Vegan, InventionTom WalmaComment

Idea: A small hole in the side of your house or in a window to use to conveniently and humanely eject bugs from your house which you catch using a handheld "bug sucker" device

Butt Sweat Reduction Ideas

Health, InventionTom WalmaComment

Tom has a sweaty butt. If he's sitting down, sometimes ONLY his butt sweats, and he's afraid if he stands up and his butt is drenched in sweat, it'll look like he peed his pants. He tried Gold Bond powder without success, so he came up with some better ideas, such as harnesses to allow you to dangle in the air instead of sitting, pants and underwear made of silver which can act like a computer processor heat sink for your body, and slow release ice pills/suppositories

Refrigerator Outdoor Exhaust Vent

Environmentalism, Invention, TechDustin "Lee"Comment

In the winter, a fridge takes warm air from inside the house which has been warmed by your heater, and cools it off again.

In the summer, a fridge vents hot air into a house which you're trying to cool down with air conditioning.

Why not position your fridge next to an outside wall, and use a vent/duct leading outdoors to either take in or vent out air (depending on the season) to save electricity? Or you could have a 2nd, tiny refrigerator door which leads outside, so Amazon grocery delivery can place food directly into the fridge. This could also allow you to sit in the fridge with the tiny door open to cool yourself off

Boom-B-Gone

Tech, Invention, Music, CarsChris KarpinskiComment

A device to cancel out loud, vibrating bass from nearby cars when you're at a stoplight or stuck in a traffic jam. And maybe also wirelessly lock the person's car doors so they don't get out and attack you if they figure out that you silenced their music

Smell-O-Vision

Futuristic, Invention, Tech, Tiny Houses, RobotsTom WalmaComment

The futuristic tiny house idea from previous podcast episodes which uses robots to wheel in and out all of your stuff on demand could also wheel in Glade Plug-in-style scents and release them into the air in sync with your television. That way you could have "Smell-O-Vision" without the nuisance of having to constantly buy and replace dozens of scent plugins/cartridges

Baby Feeding Shirt

Invention, Parenting, ClothingMatt BachComment

A smock to wear (over your shirt) when feeding a baby which will absorb vomit if the baby throws up, and has the alphabet printed on it for educational purposes. Also useful for drunk adults who might vomit on themselves or need to recite the alphabet to pass a sobriety test

Revolving Door Electricity Generator

Tech, Invention, EnvironmentalismBrendan GayComment

A device to generate electricity from pushing a revolving door when entering or exiting a building. Although this might cause companies to encourage their employees to smoke so that they generate electricity walking outside for their cigarette break. And "big oil" might murder people in the revolving door Godfather-style to discourage people from generating clean energy

Hanging Human Beehive Skyscraper

Invention, Tech, Futuristic, Tiny HousesTom Walma2 Comments

An extremely lightweight skyscraper shaped like a giant beehive that hangs down from giant "St. Louis Arch"-sized arch(es), above existing skyscrapers, where the people and all of their stuff are flown in and out on drones which look like giant bees.

Also: rotating them around a city through a series of arches on a suspended cable, tea-bagging the Trump tower, beehive-dweller bullying, an idea for the biggest business of all time
